The 111th Street Station

Explore the railroad history of the Ridge communities and learn more about the restoration of the landmark 111th Street station. The rehabilitation work on the 111th Street Metra station has progressed!!!. The foundation work was completed in the summer of 2001 and the main structure was lowered onto the new concrete. Roof work was started and by Fall 2001 new supports were placed around the building to hold the new shed and eaves. They were completed in Late Fall. The roof was recovered with asphalt shingles that approximate the look of the original wood shingles used when the station was first built.
